Grace Gallery welcomes artist Kimberly Down on March 3, 2024
Kimberly Dow won first place in our recent 20th Annual Juried Art Show and is an accomplished oil painter. She has two distinct styles and uses the separate artist name for one of them. Come by the gallery this Sunday March 3rd after the service to meet Kimberly and see her beautiful work.
Artist Statement
Rosilyn Young, aka ‘Roz’ has been painting her colorful whimsical animals and other subjects for over 20 years. She and her paintings are a creation of Kimberly Dow, a well-known contemporary realist portrait painter who wanted to also paint loosely. Because the two styles were so completely different: a pseudonym was needed – and so Roz was born.
Being early to the online shopping for art, Roz’s paintings are sold on Etsy, on eBay, on her site DrunkenCows.com as well as other places. Over the years she has sold to restaurants, doctors’ offices, interior decorators, and thousands upon thousands of private collectors. Impressionistic with thick swatches of paint and emotive brush strokes, her work brings a smile to all faces. In her own words, this is not serious artwork, but ‘Whimsical Fine Art’ created to bring joy.
